Ballet routines must be classical choreography for the approved list of choreographers and composers. Dancers shoud be able to exhibit the technique, musicality, and perfromance quality for each routine. Ballet routine can be competed on flat or en pointe for dancers 11yrs. or older. 

A jazz routine incorporates stylized dance movements and

combinations, formation changes, group work, leaps and

turns. Emphasis is placed on proper technical execution,

extension, control, body placement and team uniformity.

A lyrical routine incorporates ballet, modern and jazz 

technique as well as other expressive movements. It is, by 

definition, emphasizing and expressing the lyrics of a piece 

of music. Lyrical dances will gravitate toward a more fluid 

style of choreography that demonstrates connection to the

A kick routine incorporates the inventive use of kick styles

with an inclusion of a variety of dance skills/creativity,

technical kick ability, and staging. Kicks must be utilized for a

minimum of 75% of the performance.

A prop routine incorporates the creative use of the selected

prop(s) with an emphasis on variety of dance skills/creativity

& staging. Props must be utilized for a minimum of 75% of

the performance time. 

Hip Hop routines may incorporate street style movement

with emphasis on execution, creativity, and body isolations

while maintaining uniformity, control, and rhythm.

Pom dance is an energetic and dynamic style of dance that places emphasis on precise and synchronised arm movements, formations, jumps, and skills. It is characterised by its use of poms, which dancers hold in their hands throughout the routine.

The Open Category must meet one of the following 

requirements: 

A. contains 3 or more tumbking passes 

B. be a routine that combines two or more 

distinct dance genres or, 

C. be a routine that utilizes a 

dance genre not recognized specifically on any other score 

sheet such as, but not limited to ballroom, stomp, or dance from other cultures etc.

A dance twirl team is a group of four or more performers who use dance and batons to create a musical interpretation. The routine can include ballet, modern, jazz, or other types of dance, and must be coordinated with the music. The routine should include an introduction, conclusion, and dynamic effects
